Language program
Monteverde International School employs a teaching method that encompasses English and Spanish language education. Current research shows that the Montessori system is effective for bilingual education because it includes a variety of resources that facilitate learning a new language.
In today’s world knowing a second language is very important. It broadens a child’s cultural and professional horizons, provides superior reasoning skills, improves perception, creativity, and develops the problem-solving ability, leading to a better understanding and usage of their own mother tongue.
Monteverde’s program merges bilingual education and the Montessori philosophy of teaching children a foreign language. It teaches them how to use language naturally and effectively. According to Dr. Montessori, such skills are the result of a learning and development process rather than direct training. Children are taught within an environment rich with experiences, guided by an adult who shapes their use of the language.
Preschool is the best time for children to learn another language.
