Languages and certifications

In Monteverde International School - High School, students continue with an ongoing program of certifications and achieve the highest level available internationally. They are shown how to develop advanced linguistic, reading, writing, listening, grammatical and oral expression abilities.
Fourth semester: Students will take the CAE (Certificate of Advanced English), which the Common European Framework of Reference considers as the C1 level for languages worldwide.
Fifth semester: Students are given the CPE (Certificate of Proficiency in English) exam. This is a C2 level certificate under the Common European Framework of Reference for languages worldwide. This is the highest certification awarded to a non-native English speaker.
In addition to the English language, students are also given courses in Ethics, World History, Environmental Science and Biology in English
French
At the prep school level, our students receive six semesters of French as a third language. Successful completion of that course entitles them to a Common European Framework of Reference DELF B1 and B2 certificate, internationally recognized and required for admission to French universities or into French businesses.
France has prestigious universities such as the Sorbonne and others that offer scholarships at the Masters and doctorate levels in different fields. The French language is an analytical tongue that helps to structure thought and develop a critical spirit. It is one of the main languages of diplomacy and business in the world.
